Fair enough." Yui conceded, abandoning her inquiries and reclining in the cart. It was a business secret, and she had no intention of prying further.

Part of her sensed that something was amiss, but her curiosity urged her forward.

Yet as the mist began to thin, Yui noticed something peculiar about the insect. The grasshopper turned out to be as large as a cat, its body had bushes grew on top of it, effectively making it an effective camouflage tool.

This fortunate delay gave Yui a moment to regain her composure and bolt away. "Help!" Her cry echoed through the misty woods as she sprinted for safety. Instinctively, she headed in the direction where the birds had fled earlier. "That must be the way out!"

She ran and ran until the sounds of the pursuing insect faded. Relief washed over her briefly, but soon anxiety crept in as she realised she was hopelessly… lost. "Oh no." Frantically searching for her map and compass, she realised she had left her small bag behind in the jungle during her panicked escape from the giant grasshopper.

Just as she was on the verge of tears, a shadowy figure emerged from the mist, motioning for her to be silent. "Shhh..." The figure, cloaked in a hood, approached cautiously. As the hood fell back, revealing a tall girl with unusual markings on her neck and forehead, Yui was struck speechless.

"Huh?" Yui blinked in disbelief. She had barely come to terms with the bizarre creatures she had encountered moments ago, and now here stood someone who seemed to belong to an ancient, supposedly extinct tribe of the woods.

She watched the girl closely, hoping for any sign of acknowledgment or response.

"I'm here!" she shouted back, relieved to hear their response and signalling them to her location. "It's a forest of death out there. You're lucky to have survived once. Let's head back to the inn."
